FAQ
When will the clinic open?
We’re excited to be opening Kindred Connections Occupational Therapy in 2026! While we complete credentialing and prepare our clinic space, families can join our early access list to be among the first to schedule appointments.
What is occupational therapy (OT)?
Pediatric occupational therapy helps children develop the skills they need for everyday life. OT focuses on fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing, emotional regulation, and self-care. Every session is individualized to meet your child’s unique strengths and goals.
What does OT look like?
At Kindred Connections, therapy is play-based and hands-on. Activities might include obstacle courses, art projects, games, sensory bins, climbing, or swinging — all designed to target specific developmental goals. Play allows children to practice skills naturally while having fun, staying engaged, and building confidence. Every activity is purposeful, even if it looks like play!
What types of challenges do you help with?
Our clinic supports children and adults with:
-
Autism
-
ADHD
-
Sensory processing differences
-
Fine and gross motor delays
-
Feeding challenges
-
Emotional regulation and self-regulation
What is sensory processing?
Sensory processing is how the brain interprets information from the senses, such as touch, movement, sight, sound, and body awareness. Children may be sensory seeking (looking for input) or sensory sensitive (easily overwhelmed). OT helps children learn to process sensory input to participate confidently in daily life.
What is neuroaffirming care?
Neuroaffirming care recognizes that every child’s brain is unique. We support children without forcing “typical” behavior and honor their differences. Our approach focuses on building strengths, confidence, independence, and meaningful participation in daily life.
Does my child need OT?
Occupational therapy can support children who are experiencing challenges with:
-
Fine motor skills (writing, self-care, feeding)
-
Gross motor skills (running, coordination, balance)
-
Sensory processing differences
-
Emotional regulation and self-regulation
-
Participation in daily routines at home, school, or community

If your child struggles in these areas or you notice delays or frustration in daily activities, OT may be helpful. We offer individualized assessments to determine if therapy is a good fit.
